Ffederasiwn Dwy Afon
Llangedwyn Church in Wales Primary School are part of Ffederasiwn Dwy Afon / Two Rivers Federation with Llanfechain Church in Wales Primary School. We share an Executive Headteacher and a governing body.
What does being part of a federation mean?
The positive impact of our federation has been applauded by our stakeholders:
What does being part of a federation mean?
- Improved educational outcomes - staff work together to share strengths and explore professional development opportunities. This benefits all our learners through improving educational outcomes and experiences.
- Friendships – by working together regularly we build friendships across the federation this is especially beneficial as we transition to high school.
- Joined trips – we often go on school trips and residentials together which allow us to develop the friendship of our children and reduce cost for our families.
- Staff expertise and development – staff can use their expertise such as Welsh, sports coaching and music across the federation and can work together to plan and design our curriculum.
- Federation afternoons and days – we have regular PE and music lessons together as well as other special activities such as craft days.
The positive impact of our federation has been applauded by our stakeholders:
Governors of the Ffederasiwn Dwy Afon
The Governors see their role as actively contributing to the school by collectively undertaking a monitoring and supportive role to the Headteacher, staff, parents and pupils, and on an individual basis by taking part in as many aspects of the schools activities as possible.
The Governors acknowledge the rights and duties of parents in the education of their children. We strive to ensure that relations between home and school are close, to optimise the co-operative and collaborative support the partnership between parents and teachers brings. We aim to work in partnership with you for the benefit of the children and welcome you as parents into the school whenever possible.
The Governors, with the Headteacher and the staff, help us make decisions about the way in which the school is run. The Governor’s term of office is 4 years. There is a General Meeting held annually or bi-annually to which all parents are invited to attend.
Mr Chris Richards is Chair of Ffederasiwn Dwy Afon Governors.
